Glopal is the trusted partner in Cross Border Trade for hundreds of ecommerce retailers. Here is how we will accompany our UK customers in their EU sales after the Brexit regulation changes.
VAT - Value Added Tax
Post-Brexit, you no longer need to declare the UK VAT on the goods that you sell to the EU. However, your buyers need to pay their local EU VAT on the goods that they purchase from you. Therefore, the best practice is to remove the UK VAT from your prices and to show the local EU VAT instead. This is something that the Glopal team can easily set up for you.
If you use the Glopal Parcel Forwarding service, Glopal will charge the destination VAT (i.e. French VAT in France) on your behalf, collect it and declare it. This means that there is strictly nothing that you need to do.
Import duties
Any goods worth more than 150 EUR are eligible for import duties when purchased from the UK to the EU.
To avoid bad surprises upon the reception of the product, it is best to ship your products DDP (Delivered Duties Paid) and to show the fully landed cost in the checkout. This way, the customer knows upfront how much they will have to pay in terms of additional fees.
Should you choose to present your end customer with a fully landed cost, Glopal can accompany you by calculating and displaying the import duties and taxes in the checkout.
This service is only available to the customers using the Glopal Parcel Forwarding service.
